About

We each have a story to tell.
Let me help you tell yours

I believe stories are the heart of what connects people to people, and people to ourselves. Everyone has a voice to contribute to the world, and I want to help communicate what makes you unique through design.

Hi! I’m Amy— a graphic designer, and artist with a love for storytelling

I’ve been practicing art since I was thirteen years old, and I started developing skills in digital art when I was seventeen years old with my very first Wacom Intuos and the free program Autodesk Sketchbook.

Before heading off to university, I did commissions on the side while expanding my art skills. I switched between traditional graphite, acrylics, and digital art often. I attended Chelsea Lang’s Oil Painting Alla Prima Bootcamp to dig in even deeper in my traditional media skills.

In April 2025, I graduated from BCIT’s Graphic Design Certificate Program. Here, I learned how to apply my art skills to the creative industry. My instructors encouraged me to use my digital illustration skills in my assignments, giving me experience in preparing my illustrations for the industry both for digital and print media. I gained knowledge about industry standards and file formatting alongside design theory, so all my art is easy to hand off to other professionals that might be involved in my process.

Why not AI?

If you can generate art in a few seconds, why hire an artist?

1. AI art alienates your audience
Many readers consider AI art a sign that the author is more interested in producing fast and easy results, which makes them wonder the same about their writing. They want to know that the author has something from the heart they want to say, and taking the time to create a human-made cover communicates that. A writer’s audience overlaps with the audience that enjoys human-made art more— it’s just good marketing.

2 . Just because AI can generate an image, doesn’t mean it can handle the file for you (at least yet)
Professional writing requires professional file management. Generators like Midjourney do not consider what is necessary to properly produce work that is ready for print media, or even all digital media. Generators also do not know how to take the artwork and prepare it in different layouts, such as a book jacket, where communication with a printer is necessary. It can produce artwork, but not knowledge of the industry.

3. You’re hiring a fellow creative to have a conversation about your work
